Update on Ofcom’s position on end-to-end competition in the postal sector


Ofcom has today issued a decision not to exercise its regulatory powers to regulate end-to-end competition in the postal sector. This follows TNT’s launch of a trial of end-to-end delivery of letters in West London earlier this year and plans for a broader roll out of the service should it consider the trial a success. Ofcom has gathered evidence to examine TNT’s plans in detail and assess their likely impact on the provision of the universal service. Minister for Employment Chris Grayling welcomes TNT Post job creation plans

 

The Rt. Hon Chris Grayling MP, the Minister for Employment, the welcomed TNT Post UK’s plans to generate up to 20,000 new jobs across the UK over the next five years.  His comments came as he visited TNT Post UK’s newest delivery unit in Victoria, London, which began operating this morning with 70 new employees.

Angie Bray celebrates new TNT Post jobs in Ealing

Angie Bray MP for Central Ealing & Acton visited one the new delivery units TNT Post UK has opened in Ealing as part of its West London pilot of a new mail delivery service.

The trial which began in mid-April created 400 new jobs in the West London area and the company hopes to expand nationwide the number of posties it has to 20,000 in the next five years.

Dominic Grieve celebrates TNT Post jobs growth in Constituency

 

The Rt Hon Dominic Grieve QC MP visited the TNT Post depot at Iver, Buckinghamshire, to meet with new team members of the rapidly growing mail sorting and distribution facility. 

Established just three years ago, the TNT Post UK depot now employs 209 staff on a three shift pattern. During the tour of the site, Dominic Grieve viewed the latest investment made by TNT Post in the facility.

Nick Wells wins Deloitte Director of the Year Business Services Award


Youngest of seven children by seven years, his father worked for a publisher and his mother managed two toy shops. Nick Wells graduated from the University of Warwick with a degree in sociology. But then he spent four years with a marketing company before being attracted by an advertisement from Circular Distributors, a door-drop media company which delivered promotional literature which didn't have a stamp on it. He joined as an account manager at the business, then owned by Brunnings, the advertising agency, and in three years had worked his onto the Circular Distributors board.
