The Rt Hon Dominic Grieve QC MP visited the TNT Post depot at Iver, Buckinghamshire, to meet with new team members of the rapidly growing mail sorting and distribution facility.

Established just three years ago, the TNT Post UK depot now employs 209 staff on a three shift pattern. During the tour of the site, Dominic Grieve viewed the latest investment made by TNT Post in the facility. The £0.5 million sorting machine enables it to sort letters into the correct order ready for its posties to deliver to households and businesses in its West London trial.

The pilot which began in mid-April created over 400 new jobs in the West London area, a number of whom on the Government's Youth Contract scheme - and the company hopes to expand nationwide the number of posties it has to 20,000 in the next five years.

The tour of the site was given by TNT Post's CEO, Nick Wells.

Today, the Iver depot handles up to 30 million items per day with each of its machines handling 30,000 items per hour which will enable TNT Post to substaintially grow its operations in the region.

Mr Grieve has already visited TNT Post UK's head office in Marlow in the North West of his constituency where another 252 local people are employed.

Following the visit, Mr Grieve said:

"I am delighted that TNT Post UK continues to expand in Buckinghamshire. The company is investing and creating significant numbers of new jobs. I look forward to seeing the company go from strength to strength in years to come."

Nick Wells, CEO TNT Post UK, commented

"We are delighted that Mr Grieve was available to meet with our team members in Iver and see how we are investing significant money into the Buckinghamshire economy and creating much needed new jobs in our growing company. We greatly appreciate Mr Grieve's continued support and the close interest that he takes in local employment opportunities and developments at TNT Post Uk."
