Since starting our Apprenticeship Programme back in October 2013, we currently now have 21 apprentices in our Coatbridge, Warrington, Leeds and Bristol Depots. The apprenticeship programme, which is run in partnership with our training provider First4Skills, is aimed at young people aged 16- 24 years old, who want to start a career in a chosen field. Working towards a nationally-recognised qualification, they are able to gain practical skills and experience whilst employed and earning a wage.

This week, 5 new apprentices joined the programme at our Bristol depot, and for the next 12 months will be working towards completing their Mail Service NVQ Level 2.

Sam Barrett, Tom Jackson, Connor Davies, Dwayne Bailey and Aaron Jackson, who all live locally, will be getting to grips with the day-to-day activities within our Bristol depot. Whilst being mentored by a TNT Post Buddy, they will gain hands on experience of the mail services industry.

Each will be required to demonstrate competence in handling, sorting and processing  mail and the various processes involved.  The qualification also includes wider competencies such as health, safety and the security and contributing to working relationships.

We want to wish them all good luck in their apprenticeship journey over the next 12 months.
