Toby Love began working with us in September of this year as Head of Transport (DSA).  Based mainly at our Rugby Depot, Toby also works nationally across the UK looking after our six Depots across the UK.

His role includes looking after a total of 154 HGV Lorries, 110 small vans and his team consists of the Transport Management Team, National Transport Planning Team and the National Van Team.  Day-to-day Toby is involved in managing processes, financial KPI’s, reporting and IT systems, procedures, cost savings and vehicle efficiency.  

Now in his 12th week at TNT Post, Toby is enthusiastic and passionate to be involved in the Transport team and looking forward to developing the function of the department whilst also building his team to include the Workshop and Consumable Team.

We caught up with Toby to ask him a few questions about himself and his job role…

1)    Tell us a bit about your self

I was born in Worcester but currently live in the Worcester/Shropshire border with my wife and three boys aged 6, 9 and 11.  After leaving school, I attended college to complete a City & Guilds qualification which then lead me to start a career in Transport Management.

2)    As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up and why?

Growing up I was a keen car enthusiast.  Interested in fast cars, Formula 1 and the mechanics of cars.  A career with Formula 1 and fast cars was quite limited to get into but I still managed to build a career in the motor industry.

3)    How long have you been at TNT Post UK?

I have been with TNT Post for 12 weeks.

4)    What have been your highlights at TNT Post UK?

Considering the short amount of time that I have been here I have to say the biggest highlight since joining is meeting like minded people who are passionate about the business and industry.  It’s great to see the vision of the people involved.

5)    List three words you would you use to describe yourself

Humorous, honest and dependable.

6)    What has been your proudest achievement? (doesn’t have to be work related)

It has to be having my three boys and watching them grow and develop.  This has been by far the greatest achievement in my life.

7)    What do you enjoy the most about your job role?

Having the opportunity to be apart of the growth of the Transport department at TNT Post and the industry.  The department is in a rapid growth period and we will be working to constantly improve the transport business.

8)    If you were stranded on a desert island, name one person and two items that you would want with you?

This is a difficult one but I think I would take Bear Grylls, a tent and a combat knife.
