As part of the Royal Mail and CWU agreement on the Business Transformation there will be significant new opportunities and advantages to advertisers using the Royal Mail door to door service.
The key points are:
- The maximum number of items delivered by Royal Mail to each household per week will increase from 3 to 4 items
- Delivery will be available 52 weeks a year - including the key Christmas and New Year weeks
- Deliveries of door to door items will extend to a Monday to Saturday service
All other aspects of the door to door service will remain unchanged.
Opportunities and Advantages
For many advertisers who historically have been unable to get full availability and coverage to their ideal schedules, the removal of the 3 item cap is a great opportunity to increase first choice coverage, which in turn should improve channel ROI.
Moving to a full 52 week-a-year service is a valuable opportunity for organisations wishing to advertise in the run up to Christmas and New Year.
Direct Response advertisers will have the chance to target consumers earlier, getting their brand in front of consumers when decisions on insurance policies, holidays and resolutions are made, whilst retailers can advertise throughout December to capitalise on the vital gift and sales markets.
