TNT Post, the largest private postal sector operator in the
UK, has expanded its operation in Leeds by moving to new premises on Stadium
Industrial Estate in Beeston, Leeds.
Operating in Leeds for the past six years TNT Post has grown its staff to over 150
people. A staggering 610,000,000 items were handled last year by this depot alone.
The new 70,000sq ft premises will give it room to expand as demand for its services
continues to grow.
TNT Post collects mail from businesses, sorts and transports it to the nearest Royal
Mail centre for the final mile delivery. Well known customers of the company include
BT, Barclays Bank, York Council, South & West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation
NHS Trust and Hull Council.
The depot in Leeds is part the TNT Post network with other sorting centres in
Coatbridge, Bristol, Ashton, Iver, Rugby and Belfast.
Commenting on the expansion, Nick Wells, chief executive, TNT Post UK, said:
“TNT Post has a strong regional business model and we are excited by the
opportunities that the move in Leeds will provide. We expect to invest in new sorting
machines to ensure that our customers continue to receive the best service in the
market and benefit from innovation and the delivery of high quality, cost effective
services. In addition, as our volumes grow, we will look to recruit from the local
community.
