Do I need any special hardware to use the TNT-it products?

You do not need any special hardware to use the SME, Mail Merge, or Accountancy products.

The SME and Accountancy services are entirely software based solutions that requires just a PC and an internet connection to be able to send post from the convenience of your home or office. The mail merge service can be accessed via our website.

TNT-it Pro customers do require a server to be installed; however if your volumes are high enough then the hardware will be free and would be installed by one of our technicians.

Please note: You must ensure port 51001 is open on your router to allow communication between your computer and the TNT-it server in order to use the TNT-it SME and TNT-it Accountancy services. Support for Microsoft Windows Vista will be available shortly, but not at present.

Do I have to commit to long term contracts or leases?

There are no minimum period contracts or leases. You just credit your account with sufficient funds and pay as you go.

Do I have to purchase the software?

The TNT-it software is free to all users

Why do you need my credit card details?

TNT-it is a pay as you go service much in the same way as if you were to a use a franking machine (although there is no on-going rental or lease), you just need a credit or debit card to credit your account.

How does my billing cycle work?

You have instant access to your billing and other information via the TNT-it task manager on your desktop.

How much can I save?

You can save up to 50% on the inclusive cost of producing and posting a letter.

Can I use multiple computers?

Yes, you can use your TNT-it account to send mail from any number of computers as long as you use the same account codes. Larger networks will find it easier to use the TNT-it Desktop Pro version which has an in-built utility for distributing the TNT-it software to multiple workstations. The Pro version also enables users to send their documents to be posted via a single secure gateway rather than as individuals.

What size of envelopes and stationery does TNT-it use?

Recent changes by the Royal Mail to the Pricing in Proportion model has made the traditional A4 sized envelope extremely expensive to use. TNT-it therefore has standardised on a white 90gsm C5 windowed envelope (C5 is equivalent to an A4 sheet folded in half) and A4 90 gsm brilliant white paper. Other envelope sizes may be accommodated by special arrangement.

How many pages can be placed in an envelope?

TNT-it uses automated fulfilling machines to stuff which can handle up to 8 pages in a standard C5 envelope.

Can I send mail to an address outside of the UK?

At the moment your mail can only be sent to addresses within the UK. However, you will be able to post overseas in the very near future. In fact we are currently in the process of providing 'Digital Post Office' facilities in a number of countries starting with the USA. This means that a letter created on a PC in the UK can be printed and posted in the USA on the same day! This will substantially reduce the time and cost of sending mail to the USA.

Can I send mail from outside of the UK for delivery to a UK address?

Yes you can. This means that a document created anywhere in the world can be printed and posted in the UK on the same day! TNT-it will substantially reduce the time and cost of sending mail to the UK from overseas. Subscribers just need to remember to use the UK A4 page size mail template which can be downloaded from this website.

What about printing mistakes?

Unlike the physical post, TNT-it also gives you the ability to recall a document that has been posted mistakenly. With the TNT-it desktop task manager you can instantly access all of your TNT-it billing information and monitor the progress of all unposted documents at the same time. Providing your document hasn’t been processed it can be deleted from the queue and your account will be credited for the appropriate amount.

Can I use the TNT-it service for mail shots?

Producing and sending out mailers can be particularly onerous for any business. How often have you had a team of your highly-paid employees around a table just to fold and stuff several hundred letters into envelopes? The whole procedure can take hours. But with TNT-it mail merge you can create your merge template in Word™ and upload it to our website together with your client data file and let us do the rest. What could be easier?
