TNT Post delivers sizeable savings to businesses in South West

TNT Post marks launch of South West service aboard the ss Great Britain, Bristol

South West businesses to benefit from 15 per cent savings on their mailing solution

TNT Post, the leading challenger to Royal Mail in the UK postal market, is today officially launching its dedicated postal service for businesses in the South West. The new service will offer local businesses an easy to use, cost effective and reliable mailing solution which will help save them valuable time, money and hassle.

TNT Post South West, based in Bristol, began operations on 1 November and has already secured over a dozen customers which will generate an annualised volume of several million mail items. Trevor Murphy, Managing Director of TNT Post South West, and Kevin Parsons, TNT Post South West Operations Director, both from the South West area, are charged with attracting new customers to the business. Clients in the Bristol area will benefit from a dedicated local account management team, which in the New Year will be substantially expanded to ensure all businesses can start taking advantage of the service offered by TNT Post South West.

The main service offered through TNT Post South West is 'PremierSort Flex', a day definite mailing solution designed specifically to benefit local businesses that send from 250 unsorted mail items per day or have weekly, monthly or irregular mailshot requirements. TNT Post South West will collect all mail from clients, process these items on state-of-the-art sortation equipment and ensure final mile delivery into the recipients' letterbox.
Trevor Murphy, Managing Director, TNT Post South West, commenting on the launch said:

"The launch of TNT Post South West offers a wealth of new opportunities to businesses in the local area. Until now, opportunities for small to medium local businesses to benefit from the deregulation of the postal market earlier this year have been limited since most mailing solutions have targeted larger businesses with high volumes of mail. With PremierSort Flex, companies in the South West will be able to experience a fast, easy to use and reliable postal service for mailings of 250 letters or more that offers flexible pick up times, dedicated account management, day definite delivery and considerable savings that will impact the company's bottom line."

TNT Post South West is part of TNT Post UK which was established in early 2003. TNT Post UK signed its downstream access agreement with Royal Mail in April 2004 and began operations in August 2004. Since its launch it has enjoyed significant growth and is now widely regarded as the leading competitor to Royal Mail, employing over 600 full time staff and delivering around 1.2 billion items per year to households across the UK.

In a relatively short time TNT Post has impressed businesses with its innovation, high-level service approach and cutting-edge technology investments to notch up some significant wins across a range of sectors such as Lloyds TSB, Barclays, Thames Water, npower, Sainsbury's, Next, Sky and T-Mobile.

Nick Wells, Chief Executive of TNT Post UK, said:

"TNT Post South West is an exciting development for TNT Post in terms of expanding our customer reach and company network. Backed with the experience and proven track record of working with a string of major UK companies, we are confident we have the necessary infrastructure and capabilities needed to provide a high level service to businesses with lower mail volumes. We hope our South West operation will create a platform for further growth in the SME market in other areas of the UK."

The launch of TNT Post South West will be marked with an evening of drinks aboard the ss Great Britain in Bristol and will provide local businesses with the opportunity to meet with some of TNT Post's key personnel and discover the benefits of the postal services available to them in their area. Guests will also be invited to take a tour of the ocean liner which was launched in 1843 to provide luxury travel to New York. Local businesses in the South West interested in attending the event on board the ss Great Britain should visit www.tntpost-marketing.co.uk/ssgreatbritain/invitation.html or contact 0808 262 0808.
