npower awards TNT Mail UK postal contract
TNT Mail UK, the main challenger in the deregulated postal market, has won a three year deal with npower to handle 50 million items of its mail.
npower is one of the UK's largest energy suppliers, serving residential consumers and business customers and will be using TNT Mail UKs Premier service, giving it a 48-hour service from collection to delivery. Royal Mail will continue to carryout the final sort and delivery to the customer.
The contract win with npower is the first for TNT Mail UK in the utility sector and is among the largest contracts awarded to a new entrant in the newly deregulated postal market. TNT Mail will handle customer statements and other transactional mail and direct marketing materials on behalf of npower.
npower joins other TNT Mail UK clients such as Sky, Caudwell Communications, Express Gifts, Booker and others operating under TNT Mail's access agreement with Royal Mail.
npower is one of the UK's top three energy suppliers with over 6m residential and business customers.
Nick Wells, Managing Director TNT Mail UK, said:
"We are delighted to have won a contract with one of the best known new brands in the UK, with over six million customers this is a significant win.
We are confident that this, our first win in the utility sector, will be the first of many as potential clients realise that only TNT Mail can provide the quality of service that their customers expect when handling their mail."
Hilary O'Grady, npower's Logistics Manager, said:
"TNT has the size scale and resources to deliver on what it promises and we are delighted to be working with them."
