TNT Post wins first contract in magazine publishing sector -
12 month, £1.6m contract, awarded by Emap
17 August 2007
Emap, the FTSE magazine publisher, with a large portfolio of UK titles including Heat, Closer, FHM, Grazia, Empire and Max Power and significant number of B2B titles, has awarded TNT Post a 12 month contract to handle up to six million items. The deal signifies TNT Post's first contract win in the magazine publishing sector.
The deal will see Emap use TNT Post's Premier service, a two day time definite service for pre-sorted mail with Royal Mail continuing to carry out the final sort and delivery to customers' homes nationwide. Valuable benefits of the service that Emap will be able to take advantage of include:
- Flexible pick up times
- Use of tracking systems that enable improved visibility and management
- Fast and reliable 2 day service.
Having already experienced these benefits first hand during an eight week trial period Emap is confident that TNT Post is well placed to serve the needs of its business and its customers. It was based upon the results of the trial period and the wide range of additional TNT Post services that the postal operator secured the new business.
Ian Phillips, Group Circulation Manager said: "Emap is pleased to be in a position to award this business to TNT Post. Subscription copies account for a significant proportion of our copy sales and so our postal partner is an integral part of the service we offer our subscribers. It's for this reason that TNT Post's offer on price and service will deliver significant benefits for Emap and its customers. We have also been impressed by the plans that TNT Post have in place for development and expansion of their services in the UK and look forward to taking advantage of these."
Nick Wells, CEO TNT Post, said: "We are delighted to have secured Emap as our first customer in the magazine publishing sector. This is a sector we are particularly keen to expand into and look forward to seeing other publishers take advantage of TNT Post's product, service and pricing. As the leading competitor to Royal Mail in the deregulated postal market, TNT Post is proving itself to be the right choice for companies looking for a reliable, efficient and cost effective mailing solution."
Whilst Emap is TNT Post's first major customer in the magazine publishing sector, TNT Post to date has secured a number of significant client wins including BT, Centrica, Sainsbury's, Next, JD Williams, Lloyds TSB, HBOS and Barclays
