The survey data also provides a broad indication of the average number Door Drop communications received by the average household on an average week.
Between 1997 and 2004 the number of GB household grew by 5.1% whilst Door Drop volumes increased by 93%.
Over this time, the average number of Door Drop communications delivered to the average GB household on an average week has gone up from 5.3 items to 9.7 items, an increase of 83%.
During this period there has also been an expansion in the range and scope of door to door delivery channels, increasing the number of days over which the delivery of these items is spread.
9.7 items per household per week is still a relatively low number compared to the average number of Door Drop items per household in many continental countries. For example, the corresponding figure for The Netherlands is over 30 items.
