Walk the World 2008
In 2008 a team from TNT Post led the organisation of the only UK walk which took place in Windsor Great Park on June 1st.
The walk started at 10am, to coincide with the start of other walks across the world, creating one continuous walk around the world over 24 time zones and 24 hours. After the walk participants were entertained with music, activities and a performance by former dancers of 'The Lord of the Dance'.
Not be deterred by the damp weather first thing in the morning approximately 500 participants donned their Walk the World T-shirts and joined our guest of honour for the day, Jim Rosenthal, around a 5 kilometre course set in the beautiful surroundings of Windsor Great Park.
The efforts of all those who took part raised £5000 which will provide around 31,000 children with a daily meal.
In total, Walk the World 2008 raised more than $900,000 across the globe, mobilised over a quarter of a million people and fed in excess of 3,600,000 school children.
