TNT Post, the UK’s largest private postal operator, has announced a number of contract wins and renewals, confirming its position as the main challenger to Royal Mail.
Contract wins for 2012 included British clothing company Cotton Traders and high street retailer Matalan, which collectively send over 35 million items per annum. Big names among the contract renewals include BT Group plc, Home Retail Group, Saga, Santander and Barclays, which in total send over 850 million items per annum. RSA, Capita, Direct Wines, Friends Provident and Thames Water have also renewed contracts, sending approximately 100 million items each year.
TNT Post UK’s success with clients has been shown through its impressive retention rate in 2012, a figure which it aims to maintain or exceed in 2013.
TNT Post processes over 3.8 billion mail items every year. Last year saw postal volumes growing by 5%. Over £3 million has been invested in the latest sorting and processing machinery, ensuring that TNT Post delivers the most efficient service. The launch of End-to-End in April 2012 positioned TNT Post as the first private postal operator to offer this service, meeting the needs of clients who want a door-to-door delivery service.
Nick Wells, CEO TNT Post UK, said:
“At TNT Post we pride ourselves on delivering an excellent service to all of our customers, and we are proud to have such a strong client roster that want to stay with TNT Post or switch to our service. We continue to win and retain high profile clients, such as BT and Home Retail Group, who appreciate working with an innovative, quality and good value postal services supplier.”
