TNT Post, the largest private postal sector operator in the
UK, has opened a new 120,000 sq ft depot in Rugby, following a reorganisation of
the company’s operations in the UK. Rugby is now TNT Post’s central depot
handling up to 30 million items of post a day.
The company which has been operating for seven years has grown its staff in the
region to over 150 people and the new premises will give it room to expand as
demand for its services continues to grow.
TNT Post collects mail from businesses and sorts and transports it to the nearest
Royal Mail centre for the postman to deliver to the consumer. Well known
customers of the company include BT and Barclays Bank.
High profile local clients include Media Tech; Datagraphic; Intelligent Fulfilment;
Warwick, Daventry and Lichfeild District Councils as well as Rugby Borough Council.
The new depot in Rugby is part the TNT Post network with other sorting centres in
Coatbridge, Bristol, Ashton, Iver, Rugby and Belfast.
Commenting on the expansion, Nick Wells, chief executive, TNT Post UK, said:
“TNT Post is committed to the regions and we are excited by the opportunities that
the new depot in Rugby will provide. We expect to invest in new sorting machines to
ensure that our customers receive the best service in the market and companies in
the area will benefit from high quality and cost effective services. In addition, as our
volumes grow, we will look to recruit from the local community.”
